OLFI 2012: Tuning for Large Memory Workloads
This mini-course will look at techniques for tuning systems for a large memory workload. We will take a look at how the kernel allocates memory, both allocation and reclamation. Most of this is done automatically, but there are a couple of points where we can influence the algorithms used by the kernel. This is an extract from the "Red Hat Performance Tuning" course.
Outline:
- Memory Management
- Finding Memory Leaks
- Tuning Swap
- Memory Reclamation
- Nun-Uniform Memory Access (NUMA)
Instructor: Andrew Dingman, Red Hat
Schedule: 1 pm to 4 pm
